Cohabitee Relationships

Cohabitee Relationships

As more people choose to co-habit than to marry, our Family Law Team deal more and more with the issues which arise when relationships break down.  Particularly, couples often need to agree how to manage property, the payment of child maintenance and other joint assets.  As the concept of a common law spouse is a myth, client's need to be guided through the process of trying to negotiate what can sometimes be a complicated situation.

More unusually provision needs to be made for children of un-married couples for housing and other capital needs.  Our team have the expertise to help you reach a solution to suit your circumstances.

We can also assist in drafting co-habitation agreements to assist couples in managing their relationships together and agreeing provision in the event that the relationship breaks down.
