Gardner Croft’s Own Frances Coupe Runs the London Marathon
Frances, one of Gardner Crofts fantastic lawyers, has recently completed a huge new achievement: running the London Marathon 2020.
Inspired to run in honour of her father, who passed away in 2014, Frances undertook the feat in aid of Pilgrims Hospices- who do incredible and important work providing support and end of life care for many. Frances’ father had received support and care from the Pilgrims Hospices, and Frances was looking for the opportunity to help the organisation in return.
Her training began at the beginning of the year with the initial April date of the event being the goal. However, like many things in 2020, this had to be rethought and soon the marathon was postponed to October and, of course, could not be done in central London.
With her sister-in-law and training partner at her side, Frances completed the run around a scenic and rural route, even adding in 1500 feet of ascent- increasing the challenge significantly. With plenty of spirit and support from her family, Frances completed the marathon, even in the wind and the rain.
Now, Frances is looking ahead to 2022, when she will be taking on the Marathon route on the streets of London, aiming to raise even more money for the fantastic cause of the Pilgrims Hospice.
We are proud to have Frances on our team, and wish her our congratulations and good luck in continuing her training for 2022.
