Team Profiles Richard Giles Position: Partner 01227 813400 Email me Work Area: Litigation Personal Injury Accreditations: Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel About Me I am the head of Gardner Croft’s Litigation and Personal Injury Department. I have over 25 years' experience working in this field. Before opting for the law as a profession I obtained an honours degree in Humanities from what is now the University of Huddersfield. I went on to study law and obtained the Common Professional Examination in Law and the Law Society Finals qualifications. I qualified as a solicitor in 1990. In my career, I have been involved in most areas of litigation, but in particular Estate and Property related disputes and Injury claims. I am a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel and am experienced in dealing with complex and high-value injury cases. For the early part of my career, I worked in practices in the North West of England, and during this period I spent three years bringing compensation claims on behalf of survivors of childhood abuse. I moved to Kent in 2004 and joined Gardner Croft in 2015. Out of hours, my interests include caravanning, French language and culture, playing the drums in an occasional church band and spending “quality time” with my family. I also help out at a winter night shelter for rough sleepers. Interesting Cases I qualified in the North West of England where I was involved in representing a large number of people whose homes had been blighted by the presence of toxic chemicals from a local factory. I spent three years working exclusively in the field of Child Abuse claims and was involved in a number of high profile cases of historical abuse. Personal Mission Statement “I have long thought that the Law should be taught as a foreign language! My aim is to give clear and concise advice which is tailored to the needs of the client, and in doing so provide an efficient and cost-effective service”.
